Lory Mpiana was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and came to Canada in 2002. Her first language is French & she speaks fluently in English as well.
Lory fell in love with the arts at 8 years old. She has trained at Armstrong Acting Studios with Dean Armstrong, Andrea Runge & Amos Crawley. She also studied at the Cindy Tanas Acting School.
Lory loves acting because “there is always personal growth that is being achieved while working on your craft. It has made me empathetic towards others and more open-minded. I believe that everyone should take an acting class at least once in their life, whether you are an actor or not. It will definitely awaken something inside of you.”
A graduate of Brock University’s Dramatic Arts Program with a BA(Hon), Trevor has been acting since age 10 with experience in theatre, film & tv & commercials.
Trevor has 5+ years training with the Walter Alza Acting Studio.
TV credits include Reign, Haunted Hospitals & Disasters at Sea.
Film experience includes lead and supporting roles in 2 feature films, a dozen short films & he was producer/lead in the award winning short THE FILM FESTIVAL.
Theatre credits include THE DREAM, ELVIS & DICK, RETIREMENT PLAN (TO FRINGE), FEVER DREAM, STATE OF WOMEN & THE PRINCESS BRIDE.
You might also recognize his commercial work as the Chapmans ice cream guy, Cheerios, Cheer & Payless.
Jesse has been acting since the ripe age of 8. He has 50+ film and television credits and was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for Best Actor for his work in the HBO Canada series “Less Than Kind.”
His enthusiasm and love for acting made him the go-to self tape reader for his friends and family (his parents and sister are actors as well) and he’s thrilled to be a part of the team at Laughing Vikings.
Sophie Van Bastaelar
Sophie is an international writer, producer, model, and actress. She is a session director, camera op, and reader at two of Toronto’s premier film & tv and commercial casting houses, and has been acting for fifteen years; she has performed onstage in Toronto, New York, Montreal, Washington D.C., and at the Edinburgh Fringe. She has also been a guest speaker on CTV News, reported for VICE and the Toronto Star, worked in PR for TIFF, and produced ads for Netflix, Coca Cola, and Samsung. Currently she is in rehearsals for a play she is directing in March at one of Toronto’s oldest professional theatre companies, and is in pre-production stages for a web series she is developing.
